Lexington is the county seat of Fayette County in Kentucky, United States. It is the second-largest city in Kentucky and the 57th-largest city in the United States in terms of population. It is the country's 28th-largest city in terms of land area. The city is also known as "Horse Capital of the World". It is located in the Bluegrass area of the state. The Kentucky Horse Park, The Red Mile and Keeneland race tracks, Rupp Arena, Central Bank Center, Transylvania University, the University of Kentucky, and Bluegrass Community and Technical College are also notable places in the city.

Lexington SC of the third-tier professional soccer league USL League One is also based in the city. The club was created in 2021 and will play its first season at the University of Kentucky's Bell Soccer Complex in 2023.
